In a Grocery Store

A grocery customer wanted to create a new way of engaging with their customers. As an every day low price retailer without a loyalty program, they were not interested in the type of two-tiered pricing of the loyalty programs found in most groceries.

Using Accelitec | interact, we helped this grocer launch a new program using RFID tags where customer accounts get automatic store credit in three situations:

  • whenever a product they purchased goes on sale during the following week;
  • when they are dissatisfied with a product they purchase, without having to return the product to the store; and
  • in the event of a product recall, including notice via email, text message, or phone call.

This system includes a notification service that communicates with opt-in customers via cell phone, email or customer account pages when appropriate marketing and promotional opportunities arise, such as personalized offers.

Together, these three programs make the delivery of store credits to customer accounts easy for both the grocer and the customer. More importantly, they help forge greater trust in the grocer, and provide significant motivation for the guest to continue choosing that grocer over the competition
