BELLINGHAM, Wash. — John Motley of Policy Solutions and former Food Marketing Institute senior executive has joined Accelitec, Inc. as an advisor for the company.

Motley is a 40- year veteran of the government and public affairs arena in Washington and has represented both large and small retailers before Congress and the Executive Branch.  From 1998 to 2008 Motley was a Senior Vice President at the Food Marketing Institute (FMI), where he represented and interacted with grocers and supermarket chains of all sizes.  This position has given him a unique understanding of the food distribution and retail industries.

Motley has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, The New York Times and other national newspapers and business magazines.  He has appeared on Good Morning America, The Today Show, The MacNeil-Lehrer News Hour, and on CNN’s Money Line, Politics Today, Crossfire, and Late Edition programs.

Motley commenting on his advisory role with Accelitec said,  “I’ve watched the grocery industry change over the last few years, with the decline in print media readership and the continued growth of both mass and club store competition.  It’s making it harder and harder for mid-size and even large grocers to compete.  The Accelitec technology platform allows grocers to differentiate themselves effectively from their competition, in their marketplace and reconnect with their customers in ways that take customer service to an entirely different level.  It really allows grocery executives to build a long term strategy around taking care of their customers that ultimately will solve many of the concerns that are constantly on their  minds, and is something I firmly believe in.  The folks at Accelitec have proven with food retailers across the country that their solution builds a greater bond with a grocer’s customer base, drives top-line sales and also increases bottom-line profits.  I think it’s a great opportunity to help shape the evolution of grocery retail.”

Peter Gruman, President of Accelitec offers this on John: “John has a great and well-earned reputation in the industry.  We are very excited to have access to his deep experience on the issues and opportunities facing grocers.   It’s a great opportunity to work with John as our platform gains wider adoption in the market.”

Accelitec|interact is a Customer Relationship Management software development company located in Bellingham, WA.  They believe that customer engagement is the new battleground in grocery retail.  Accelitec delivers increases in key financial metrics through improved customer engagement.
